Indiana experiences storms every year that produce damage causing hail and wind. This damage to your roof and exteriors is unpredictable and unavoidable, and that’s why we have homeowners insurance. When hail hits a roof, the granules on the shingles become compromised. The weakened shingle then becomes vulnerable to the sun’s UV rays which can penetrate over time, eventually resulting in leaks.

Not sure if your home experienced enough damage to justify calling in a claim? We recommend a free inspection. Post-inspection we’ll share our findings with you and advise on the best way to proceed. If your property is found to be in good condition you can rest assured you had it inspected by a professional.

WHY CHOOSE US?

    • We assist from claim initiation to completion. We provide all of our services in exchange for allowing us to perform the repairs covered under your claim.

    • We provide a free and professional inspection to verify that your home has damage that would likely be covered under an insurance claim.

    • On the day of your adjuster meeting, we’ll meet the adjuster at your home to ensure they document all of the damage that we found in our inspection.

    • We’ll know the storm date. Your insurance company will need to know the date of loss for your claim.

    • If your insurance company does not pay for items that should be replaced we have the capability to supplement the insurance company for additional funds.

    • In most cases, your mortgage company will be included as a payee on your checks received from your insurance company. We handle communication with your mortgage company to release the funds to you.

    • If permits are needed we obtain those for you.

    • When the job is complete, we will release your depreciation funds to you. (Depreciation funds are held back from your insurance company until all work is done.)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Why should I have my roof inspected after a hail storm?

A: Hail damage to your roof can’t be seen from the ground but if necessary repairs aren’t addressed, it could lead to bigger problems in the future like leaks, rotted decking, etc.

Q: Why are hail and/or wind damage repairs covered by insurance?

A: Storm damage is considered an unforeseen “Act of God” . Your homeowner’s insurance policy is in place to make you whole after a weather event. Your current shingle’s manufacturer warranty does not include coverage for storm damage.

Q: How do I know if I should call in a claim for exterior repairs?

A: After a hail and/or wind storm, have a professional out to assess your home’s exteriors. After performing a free damage inspection they can advise you on their recommendation based on inspection findings.

Q: How do I know if the hail was big enough to cause damage?

A: Hail begins to damage the integrity of your roof beginning at 1 inch*. There are also other factors to consider such as the force, direction and solidity of the hail.   (*Source: HAAG Engineering)

ABOUT WIND & HAIL DAMAGE

Wind damage breaks the seal of your shingles and begins to lift them. Once they are lifted, more wind can get underneath and rip of the shingle completely. An exposed roof is vulnerable to the elements and should be repaired as soon as possible to avoid leaks.

There are two types of hail damage to a roof. The first is hail damage that has resulted in unseen structural damage causing cracks and leaks in the future.  The second is severe hail damage that results in immediate leaks in the form of cracks, holes, splitting or even missing shingles.  Hail damage is nearly impossible to see from the ground. Walking a roof is dangerous if you don’t have experience. Our professional inspection includes photos of any damage we find while on your roof. Signs of hail damage on a roof include:

    • Random damage with no pattern

    • Hail hits that are black in color

    • Loss of granules, which may expose the roof felt

    • Asphalt that appears shiny

The roofline, pitch, overhang, fascia, and valleys all should be considered when a gutter system is installed. We’ll evaluate your unique home and plan for a solution that best fits your needs. A reliable gutter system will go a step further toward protecting your home from the elements and help ensure your siding, trim, and foundation will continue to last for years. When updating your home’s exteriors, don’t forget about the details such as the soffit and fascia. They are important to the functionality of your home, and when not performing as they should, problems can occur. They also increase the ventilation of air in the home as well as protect areas that are difficult to paint. Selecting a complementing color for your soffit and fascia that pairs well with your siding, gutters and roof makes for a beautiful and cohesive appearance.
